About Damah
Damah is one of the most popular majlis games in the Gulf, also known as Turkish draughts: a full 8×8 board, each player has 16 pieces starting in two rows, and the goal is to capture all your opponent's pieces or block them so they have no moves left.
In Ghada World you can play against Ghada at three levels, suitable for beginners and pros alike, or put the device between you and your brother or dad and compete on the same screen. It's a calm thinking game that brings the whole family together, for all ages.
📖 How to play
- Choose to play against Ghada (Easy, Medium, or Hard) or two players on the same device.
- Tap one of your pieces (red), then tap the square you want to move it to: one step forward, right, or left, and no moving backward.
- Capture an opponent's piece by jumping over it when it's next to your piece and the square behind it is empty, and you can keep capturing in the same turn.
- Capturing is mandatory, and if you have more than one path, you must choose the one that captures the most pieces.
- A piece that reaches the opponent's last row becomes a "Damah" 👑 that moves and captures any distance in a straight line.
💡 Tips for winning and earning more points
- Don't leave a lone piece in front of two of your opponent's pieces: mandatory capturing can drag you into a trap that costs you more than one piece.
- Keep your back row in place as long as possible so your opponent can't crown a Damah easily.
- The Damah is very powerful because it moves any distance, so aim to crown your first Damah before your opponent does.
- Use mandatory capturing to your advantage: offer your opponent a piece if capturing it opens up a bigger capture for you.
